Life is Unpredictable

It always seems that just when life becomes calm and comfortable, something always has a way of shaking things up a bit. I think it is life's natural prevention against complacency. Recently, my 26 year old daughter has had the need to move back in with us for a while (til she gets her feet on the ground). this has been a bit of a blessing for me, since it gives me another bit of time to be close to her. She is delightful to be around and takes care of her own business, so there is no downside to this situation aside from just a little less privacy. The complicating factor (and a mixed blessing) has been her new puppy, Primo.

Primo is six weeks old, full of piss and vinegar, cute as a button....and deaf. Needless to say, this puppy training process is going to be challenging! There is a lot of information on the internet about training deaf dogs, so we will all be quite educated, eventually!

Maddie has turned out to be quite a wonderful babysitter....ever patient, tolerant Maddie.

Hi Beverly, Primo looks adorable! Good luck on the training. You are so fortunate to have your daughter come back for a while. We have just lost our daughter due to graduation and a surprise decision to join the Navy. I wanted to see her go fly in the world, I just didn't want it to be so far away and such a stretch of time before we see her again. Hope the puppy does well! blessings, Kathleen

We had a deaf cat once. It was so funny. Any time we came home, we played 'where's the cat'. Since he didn't hear us come in, we never knew where he'd be. Usually, after we'd been home a while, he'd come strolling out.

Love your aprons. I have some similar patterns, but haven't made any of them yet.

Hi Bev Dear!

What a darling pup Primo is! And yes, Maddie is the dearest ever!

Primo is blessed to now be a member of Bee Haven Acres!

Hugs,
Maryjane

We just bought a puppy and I swear he's deaf also. He doesn't mind us at all! I have to say, i thinki bit off more than I could chew with this puppy business. He chews on EVERYTHING including my heels when I walk. I hate to say this but I dont ever want a puppy again..I'd rather have a grown dog : )

my daughter has a hunting dog that is 12 years old and has been deaf from birth. She is the sweetest dog I have ever known. As with all dog training the owner is the one that needs the training. After all this time I still call for her to come when shes with me. Oh well Sarah has learned all hand commands and is really a wonderful dog. If I didn't have my sweet Minnie I might take on the challenge of a deaf dog. It's all good.
