I had a little spare time today and wanted to try a new pattern. This is a grocery store tote....constructed exactly like the plastic sacks that the stores use.
I carry re-usable totes with me whenever I shop. The nice thing about this bag is how it folds flat. It is super strong and super stuffable.
I think I may make a few of these for next year's Christmas presents. Filled with farm fresh eggs and a loaf of home baked bread and a jar of homemade jam....what a great gift idea! As busy as spring, summer and fall are on the farm...I am going to try to use the winter months to get a jump on next year's gift giving ideas.

That turned out so adorable. I made one from some bright vintage hawaiian fabric about a year ago from the plastic bag for a swap. I wish I had kept it. So cute, I think I will make more too. Love the idea of the bread, jam etc. Have fun!
Love your bag. Where might I find the pattern.
Thanks
Love the fabric you used. That looks like a very quick project to complete. Very cool.
Very good idea,Bev!!!
On my way to the sewing room!!!
What a great idea! I love the chicken fabric. Who is the fabric manufacturer?

Love the idea of making some as a gift and then adding homemade bread and jelly. Hope you don't mind if I steal that idea :)Thanks for sharing.
