At some point in the past few weeks,
unfortunately, post Christmas wrapping time,
I came upon this idea for home made
bows.
I just love it!
Another opportunity to forgo the stores and create something myself.
I have decided to never buy wrapping essentials again.
I will re-use, recycle, re-purpose
in an effort to decrease my carbon footprint
and be awesomely creative!!
So, today I got out some old piano lesson books,
cut them into strips,
folded them so...
hot glued paper, fingers and work surface...
and created
THESE
I just love them.
I used strips of paper that were 1 inch wide and 4 inches long.
Varying the size of the strip will determine the size of the bow.
The possibilities are limitless.
I imagine bows from old magazines....colorful and shiny,
sheet music,
illustrations,
funny papers...
Oh, the possibilities are endless.
And how about adding some glitter to these bows???
Any excuse to use glitter!!!!!

Great idea. Love it.
Great idea! Hope I can remember it next time I need a bow! LOL Love the ones you made out of the piano lesson books.
These are adorable...and yes...there's so many papers
to make them from. You can cut
bands of paper to wrap around the
packages too...of course, no
one will want to undo the wrapping
to get to the present..it'll be so pretty.
I love this idea!! I actually made some bows like that out of felt and added a little pin to the back. We kept three (one for each of us girls) and I brought the rest in to work to share with the girls in my class. It never occurred to me to make some out of paper and glitter... This will definitely replace store bought bows at our house!!
Thank you for sharing this great idea!
I love these!
Coolest idea since sliced bread!
love it!!!
you're imagination gone wild...again..what a great idea!!Nice that you included a bit of finger..makes it so much more personal :)
What a great idea. I have been collecting old music books hoping to find uses for them. This one I am going to try. Thanks
Love the bows and I was just thinking about throwing out some magazines, just might pull out a few pages and give this a try.
